Team Training Rides

Our training rides are normally scheduled on Saturday mornings with start times determined by weather season and road conditions. We will send out an email to alert Velo Force team members on Friday.

We typically meet up at the Price & Clayton intersection and head west on Clayton Road. Our routes range between 50 and 90 miles and between 2,000 and 5,000 feet of elevation with several options to turn back for those wishing to ride less miles and/or less total elevation. We usually include a RWGPS link to the route in our email.

Please take the time to read these rules prior to joining us:

  1. Road bikes or gravel bikes with road tires are strongly recommended.
  2. Rides are no-drop provided you are able to ride comfortably within the pace described for each ride.
  3. Inform other riders behind you of hazards such as pot holes or obstacles.
  4. Ride no more than two riders across, and ride single file any time vehicles are behind the group trying to pass.
  5. In the Spring and Fall, our rides are designed to be no-attack, however if you jump off the front on a hill just simply wait for the group at the top.

How do I join a Training Ride?

  • If you are a team member, we appreciate it if you reply to the email to alert our ride leader you’re planning to join but it is not required.
  • If you are considering becoming a member or you are joining us coming from out of town, submit your information through our “Contact Us” section of our homepage so we know to look for you on Saturday.

What pace should I expect?

  • Our average tempo pace ranges between 18-20 mph
  • We usually regroup at the top of every hill
